What Happens After Submission
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will promptly review the claim. If the notice complies with DMCA requirements, we may remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content. We may also notify the party responsible for the content and provide them with an opportunity to submit a counter-notification.
A Quick Note
Filing a false DMCA claim is a big deal and could have legal consequences, so please only submit a notice if you’re certain of your rights. I’m all about fairness here and want to keep this a positive space for everyone.
Counter-Notices
If your content has been removed and you believe it was done in error or is protected under fair use or with proper authorization, you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your name and contact information
- Identification of the removed content and its original location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate federal court
- Your physical or electronic signature
If a valid counter-notification is received, the content may be restored within 10-14 business days unless the original complainant initiates legal action.
